Alexander McInteer born est. 1731, will dated 3 May 1802, will probated 14 September 1807 at Stafford County, Virginia. Parents or origin not known, but likely of Scottish heritage. He married first to Mariam Belcher (Belsher or Pilcher?), eight children. He married second est. 1770/1781 to Sarah Sinclair or St. Clair, seven children.
Following is the abbreviated transcription of the will of Alexander McInteer published in Virginia Settlers; Fall 1990; Page 115. This is a short-lived and extremely rare journal by McDowell Publications of Utica, Kentucky, apparently published from about 1980 through 1990. A compliation of Spring, 1987 -Through Winter, 1990, pages 1-128 (titled as "Volume III") was prepared and published in November of 1990 by A. Maxim Coppaga, Concord, California, which is the actual source in typewriter font of this transcription, which was re-typed again by me for display here.
The original record book containing records prior to 1860 was lost or destroyed and all that remains is an abbreviated transcribed extract which was attested to in June of 1962. Consequently, the last known presence of the book and the actual date the abbreviated transcription was prepared would have been before 1962 and after King's birth in 1914.
WILL OF ALEXANDER MCINTEER Of STAFFORD COUNTY, VIRGINIA:
" In the name of God Amen. I Alexander McInteer...I give and bequeath to my
loving wife Sarah ...possession of this tract of land whereon I now live,
until my son HARMON McINTEER arrives at the age of 21 years.Also my Negro
'Jerry' and at her decease to be equally divided between LYDIA McINTEER,FRANCIS
McINTEER, AGATHA McINTEER, SHEBA McINTEER and SARAH McINTEER...Also I bequeath
to my son-in-law EWEL Mason, my Negro man named 'Jack' AND TO MY BELOVED SON,
HARMAN McINTEER, land his mother shall inherit..to my son, NOAH McINTEER, money,
bonds and profits for schooling ...If he should die before age twenty one, to
my grandson, ELIJAH McINTEER, son of HENRY McINTEER.
...Also to my former children that I had by my first and loving wife, MARIAM
McINTEER,namely,RHODA KENDALL, WINIFRED HARDING, ANN MASON (wife of EWEL MASON),
HENRY McINTEER and MIRIAM TOULSON having formerly given their proportion...I
