Various other Ingrams lived in Montgomery County, Virginia at the time Samuel Ingram (est1730-1799) was an inhabitant. I recall they were in a different part of the county. They may or may not be related and may or may not be a clue to Samuel's origin, but so far one line has been disproven by DNA. This page is mostly a preliminary collection of random bits of information about them.
William F. Ingram b 1733 in New Hanover County, North Carolina,
now Montgomery, VA who may have had a brother Thomas.
William had at least one son Andrew born 1758 in Granville or
Fentress County, North Carolina.
There is a family Bible page that confirms this but I have NFI about it.
Andrew joined the Rev. War from Montgomery Co., VA in 1776.
Apparently moved
to Tennessee, apparently Hawkins Co., in 1790.
Unknown whether William F. and/or other family accompanied Andrew.
According to family trees at Rootsweb,
Andrew married first _____ Moore, 18 reported children (some suspect);
second to a Nancy Smith, one daughter.
- Initially from Ingram Digest V01 #14 WED 24 JAN 2001; added to.
As of March 2019, DNA testing has shown that descendants of Andrew are NOT related to Samuel Ingram (est1730-1799). See: Ingram Surname Study - Y-DNA Classic Chart . (Don't ask me for an explanation; this DNA stuff is a total mystery to me.)

The line I am searching is an Andrew Ingram (Rev. War)b: 1758.? In a bible his grandson had - it stated that Andrew's father was a William Ingram. Andrew joined the Rev. War from Montgomery Co. VA.? After the war he moved to Hawkins Co, TN.? He purchased land there in 1791 from the state of NC.
>From land records we can tell there was a William Ingram in Hawkins Co., TN. before Andrew moved to the state.? In the history of the Presbyterian Church - they erected its first house of worship on a small stream in Carters' Valley now known as Bradley Creek.? No date for this church.? Some accounts give the late 1790's other the early 1800s.? On the roll of original members is this entry: Eleanor, Widow of William Ingram.
Now I don't know the age of this William.? I don't know the age of this Eleanor.? I don't know even if she was 2nd, 3rd or 4th wife. What I was able to glean off the internet was these children; Mary Elizabeth b: abt. 1779 Married Samuel Wilson.? They moved to Washington Co, Ark. Thomas b: abt 1778 - Married Martha Tyree.? She brought 2 boys to the marriage - together they had one girl Mary who married Oliver Miller. Very possibly Thomas was married before but I don't know the previous wife's name or children.? Was his first name James??? It appears Thomas stayed in Hawkins Co.? Could he have married Nancy Miller (Peter Miller's girl) abt. 1800 and had Miller Ingram b : 16 Jan 1801?? William b: abt. 1780.? No further information. Eleanor (Nelly).abt. 1781/3?? Married Joseph Criner.? Moved to Alabama. Margaret (Peggy) abt.? 1782 Married James Long. Died at 24 yrs.

There are Lees in Montgomery County, VA. in the late 1700's. Clement Lee is one of them. In trying to nail down his children I got myself confused.
I have a Clement Lee b: 21 AUG 1825 in Maryland, Va. Wife: Sarah Walling. Was his parents William Lee and Jane Cole? I think this Sarah died in her early 70's.
Then there is a Clement Lee with a wife of Susanna Berk. I don't know this Clement's dob but Susanna was born 1820. Who was the father of this Clement?
These two Clement's appear to have two complete different families - so I don't think it was a case of 1st wife, 2nd wife. What was this Clement's fathers name? A David Lee pops up so many times as father of Clement - but which Clement?
There was a John Lee (son of the Clement b: 1825) whom a person named BScottWillaims said had a son of Clement and that Clement had a wife named Delilah (unknown maiden name). I don't know the birth dates of either this Clement or wife Delilah.
I am interested only because the Lees are so "around my Ingram's".
HINTS WHY I THINK THE LEES CONNECT TO OUR INGRAMS: Was Andrew Ingram's mother Elizabeth Lee? (he was born 1758) Our oldest Ingram, (Willam was born 1733) son, Andrew, said in his Pension records he (Andrew) was born in Granville, NC. (Rev. Wm "Bill" Ingram of Greasy Creek said he lived in Granville, NC.)Is this "Bill" my Andrew's dad? There was a William Lee in the same company in the Rev. War with our Andrew Ingram. Did this William Lee marry Andrew's sister Elizabeth? To prove. IF Elizabeth was Andrews' sister and married a William Lee abt. 1776 - they named a boy after her brother, Andrew. Andrew had a girl named Elizabeth. (named after his sister? and/or mother?) Andrew was on personal prop. list in Montogomery Co., VA. in 1782 along with Clement, Jesse, Joseph and William Lee. Andrew joined the Rev. War from that county. (Rev. Wm "Bill" Ingram said he lived in Montgomery Co., VA.) Andrew's boy (James LEE Ingram)married a Mary Lee (she was dau. of a John Lee(to prove). Andrew's boy James Lee Ingram with wife Mary lived in Cumberland Co. KY next to Elizabeth and Willam Lee's boys - (William, John and Vaderman). (I have not found the paperwork for this just a Lee searcher telling me) Andrew had a grandson named Clement Ingram.
If I could find some paperwork proving Andrew and Elizabeth were brother and sister - all would tie up nicely.
Relationship to Ebenezer Ingram who married 18 May 1785 at Montgomery Co., Virginia to Hannah Johnson needs to be explored. Based on Ebenezer's estimated birth year of 1763, he could have been a nephew.
