James B. Shuck (1839-1903) and family

Overview

James B. Shuck (1839-1903) was a son of Levi Shuck (1817-1894) and Eliza Kitson.

Ida Shuck didn't have anything on him or his descendants, only: "I. James Shuck, born Jan. 1, 1839 Married Edna Moore Oct. 27, 1859. They went to Kokomo, Indiana." James was a bit illusive to track down because he apparently moved around quite a bit, but I think the following sequence of events (partial) is correct:

Some of the children of James B. Shuck (1839-1903) and Edna Moore probably married at Howard Co. and left descendants there. (1900 and later censuses should be checked.) The oldest son, John W., married March 1880 at age 18 to Frances Isadora "Dora" Chastain and remained at Tipton Co., living with her parents.

See Misc. Howard County, Indiana records. for various supporting records. Mostly pertain to James B. Shuck and John Thomas Shuck and/or descendants.

 Family went to Kokomo, Indiana (Howard Co.)
 "lived for a time in Tipton Co. Indiana"

I had originally thought that the Tipton Co., Indiana connection was suspect;
that it was confused with the OTHER James B. Shuck (1823-1918) who is known
to have lived and died at Tipton Co. However, I think it is now clear
which is which. Particularly, the evidence is strong that
John W. Shuck (cal1862-), s/o James B. Shuck (1839-1903), married
at Tipton Co. (7MAR1880 to Frances Isadora "Dora" Chastain).
(They apparently divorced after about 6/7 years of marriage.)

births of children, would have been in Missouri: Lincoln or Pike County,
probably the James pg. 074 in Hurricane Township, same page as Levi.

NOT in KY. Do not have 1870 index for INdiana.)
